first of all, i want to say thanks to everyone who came out to our Dr. Dog “Step Up Your Game 2012″ shows. it was cold. it was warm. but most of all, it was lovely. so thanks.

dr. dog is the dog that never sleeps and we’ve already announced a slew of summer tour dates. we’re even doing two shows with the mighty Wilco and hopefully Glenn Kotche will show me how to properly play the drums. remember to check out the “TOUR” button to your left. it will surprise and tickle you through the power of virtual reality. the kind of virtual reality that used to cost $60 for 5 minutes at Dave and Busters. a sea of abstract vector graphics.

so i guess you know by now that Dr. Dog is releasing a new album on february 7th, 2012! it’s called “Be The Void” and I promise you that it’s going to be a real humdinger – and humdinger is a word I use rarely. we’re going on tour starting february 1st and i’d love to see you there. the planets were aligned and we were able to get GIVERS and Purling Hiss to open up for us. holy crap. two great bands. one great price. i promise to throw a banana at you during the encore, if you need potassium and you’re dehydrated. i hear vita coco doesn’t really work anymore.
i’ve been laying low in grilladelphia lately, but you can catch me DJing at The Barbary on December 23rd with Sammy Slice. AND LEST WE FORGET THE NYE JOHNNY BRENDA’S PARTY MANSION CELEBRATION. i’ll be DJ Tannering alongside Chris Powell (MAN MAN) and Schoolly D! And some other guys I haven’t met yet! so warm up your winters bone and dance yer face/off (with john travolta and nick cage).

hope the summer has been treating you well. the fall is steadily approaching and i’m ready for it. without a doubt my favorite season. who doesn’t love halloween candies, thanksgiving pies, and christmas cookies? i’m going to need some extra fat on my bones because i’m touring with Dr. Dog in November! check the tour section on the left. luckily we’ll be in the southeast, so i guess i’ll be wearing swim trunks most of the time. also, i’m happy to announce that we’re wrapping up our new album soon and it is a doozy.

i last wrote in this weirdo blog on april 24. yikes. so much has happened since then. where do i begin? i played a fantastic show at jb’s with the glorious paper cat. much thanks to the powderkegs for setting that one up. then i travelled to bethlehem, pa and boulder, co for two shows with dr. dog. after that, i had a show/birthday celebration at jb’s with ape school. there were cupcakes, a balloon drop (thanks nicky), and chocolate peanut butter pretzels (thank you dad). the next couple of weeks will be pretty hectic – recording sessions with don mccloskey, beefheart tribute in nyc, springs, and the beginning of the brand spanking new dr. dog record. it’s a very exciting time for all of us! i’ll be recording with dr. dog all summer. it’s going to rule. hard.
